New photos revealed as Princess Estelle turns 10

Sweden’s Princess Estelle is celebrating her tenth birthday today, and the Royal Court has released new photos to mark the occasion.

In one of the photos, the Princess is seen in a white blazer, looking remarkably like her mother in the family’s home. In the other, the young royal is at home with her maternal grandparents, the King and Queen.

The images were taken by Linda Broström and Sara Friberg.

Estelle will celebrate her birthday privately with her family. A small family celebration took place at the Crown Princess Family’s home at Haga Palace with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

Crown Princess Victoria had one engagement today where she will be undertaking training with the Swedish Armed Forces. Prince Daniel met with kidney researchers ahead of World Kidney Day.

Born on 23 February 2012 in Karolinska University Hospital, Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary is the first child of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. She is also the first grandchild of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

The King announced her names and dukedom the day after her birth. She was given the ducal title of Duchess of Östergötland.

Princess Estelle is second in line to the Swedish throne behind her mother, and she is expected to one day be the Queen of Sweden.

As such, she has a host of royal godparents who include her maternal uncle, Prince Carl Philip; cousin, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway; King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands; and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. Her paternal aunt, Anna Westling-Söderström, also serves as a godparent.

Estelle has one younger brother, Prince Oscar, who was born on 2 March 2016. She was the first Swedish princess to be born without the fear of the birth of a younger brother replacing her in the line of succession.

She attended Äventyret Preschool from 2014; she entered Campus Manilla School in August 2018.
