Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden tests positive for Covid

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden

The Crown Princess of Sweden has tested positive for Covid.

Crown Princess Victoria is now isolating at home. She is reported to have only mild symptoms, rather like those of a cold, and to be recovering well.

In accordance with current guidelines in place in Sweden, her husband, Prince Daniel and their two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, are also isolating although all three have so far tested negative for the virus.

News of Victoria’s positive test comes just days after it was confirmed that her parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, have contracted the virus. All three royals are fully vaccinated.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s upcoming engagements have been postponed.

This is the second time that the Crown Princess, who is 44 has contracted coronavirus. It comes as Sweden experiences a surge in infections caused by the Omicron variant.
