Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Frederik wish each other luck in the handball finals

“Good luck Sweden, may the best team win!”, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark told his Swedish counterpart Crown Princess Victoria on the telephone shortly before the Men’s World Championship handball where their two countries will face each other in the finals.

The royals shared a photo of the telephone call with Crown Prince Frederik being photographed by his eldest son Prince Christian. The photo of the Swedish royals includes the entire Crown Princess Family with Prince Oscar waving a Swedish flag.

The shared photo led to delight amongst royal fans and had been liked over 5,000 times and shared over 140 times on the Danish Royal Family Facebook page.

Denmark is the defending champion while Sweden has reached its first final since 2001. The finals will take place in the Cairo Stadium Sports Hall.

The Scandinavian royals are known to be very close. In 2017, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark said, “My own family creates a bridge between the Nordic nations. The Nordic royal families belong together, and we stand by each other very closely.” Queen Margrethe explained that her son, Crown Prince Frederik, is a very good friend of both the Swedish and Norwegian Crown Prince(ss) couples. The Queen also added that they often visit each other.
