Crown Princess Family of Sweden celebrates First Sunday of Advent

The Crown Princess Family of Sweden has released a video marking the First Sunday of Advent and photos of Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar making wreaths at Haga Palace.

In the video, Prince Daniel lights the first candle for the First Sunday of Advent (the Sundays leading to Christmas) as the family sits around the fire. Crown Princess Victoria speaks to the camera and says: “Today is the first Advent, it means arrival and hope. Something that feels extra important this year.”

The First Sunday of Advent looks forward to the second coming of Christ and usually represents hope.

At the end of the video, eight-year-old says: “We want to wish you all a happy first Advent.”

A family photo and three images of Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, 4, making Advent wreaths. The royal children have been busy making wreaths for their home at Haga Palace. Oscar created a round wreath while his big sister made a heart-shaped one.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel have been working from home lately due to the pandemic and recently tested negative for COVID-19 after Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were diagnosed with the virus. Their Royal Highnesses have been undertaking their engagements via video conference.
