Celebrations for Queen Silvia’s 80th birthday to begin next month

Celebrations for Queen Silvia of Sweden’s 80th birthday are set to begin next month.

The Queen will turn 80 on 23 December, right in the midst of the hectic final Christmas rush.

To make sure Her Majesty is celebrated properly, the Royal Court has said festivities will begin early next month.

On 5 November, a royal birthday concert will be held at Drottningholm Palace in honour of Queen Silvia. It will take place in the Royal Chapel, and according to Svenskdam, it will be the traditional musical celebration of the Royal Theatre that usually takes place on 23 December.

Any other official celebrations for Her Majesty’s 80th birthday have not yet been revealed.
