The Spanish Royal Family posed for their annual summer photocall in Palma as an autumn full of changes awaits its members.
King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta SofÃa visited the Alfà bia Gardens, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011.

The family is carrying out engagements and spending time in the Sierra de Tramuntana region of Palma, a mountain range in Mallorca, ahead of Princess Leonor’s military service and Infanta SofÃa’s move to Wales for her continued education.
On 17 August, Princess Leonor will begin a three-year training period with the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. The Spanish Royal House announced in May that her military education will precede her post-secondary education; and she will focus on the Spanish Army training first.

In 2024, it is expected that she will continue her training—this time with the Spanish Navy—at the MarÃn Naval Military Academy; and in 2025, her training concludes with the Spanish Air Force at the San Javier General Air Academy.
At the end of each training programme, she is expected to receive a rank: Dame-Cadet for the Army, Midshipman for the Navy, and Lieutenant Cadet in the Air Force.

Meanwhile, Infanta SofÃa will further her education at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, following in the footsteps of Princess Leonor, who graduated from the school earlier in the spring.
Princess Leonor attended the two-year programme, run in the Vale of Glamorgan, alongside Princess Alexia of the Netherlands. Both graduated this spring.
Next, Infanta SofÃa and Princess Ariane of the Netherlands will attend. Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, graduated from the school in 2020.
