Queen Sonja of Norway leaves hospital after air ambulance dash from holiday

Queen Sonja of Norway has been discharged from hospital after a dash by air for treatment after she fell ill on holiday.

The Queen of Norway, who is 87, was taken to hospital in Oslo by air ambulance on the afternoon of Easter Monday after developing shortness of breath.

She was treated overnight before being allowed home the following morning.

The royal court says Queen Sonja will now rest at the palace and won’t carry out any engagements for the coming week.

It’s not the first health scare for the Norwegian queen this year. Just a few months ago, she was admitted to hospital with atrial fibrillation and later had a pacemaker fitted.
