Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway tackles important first as a royal

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway is making big steps into her life as a working royal after completing her military training. The second in line to the throne joined her grandparents, King Harald and Queen Sonja, and her parents, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, to take part in her first incoming State Visit.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra stepped out with her parents to help begin the Icelandic State Visit. King Harald, Queen Sonja, the Crown Prince and Princess, and Princess Ingrid Alexandra welcomed President Halla Tómasdóttir to Oslo.

Ingrid Alexandra will be the first reigning Queen of Norway since the late fourteenth century when Queen Margaret I reigned.

The princess looked at ease despite the importance of the event, smiling and chatting with the waiting crowds in the sun.

Her Royal Highness also followed in a common royal tradition- dipping into mum’s closet. She borrowed one of Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s coat dresses, a white A-line piece from Brock Collection.

Both Ingrid-Alexandra and Mette-Marit went with a structured look for the welcome, with the Crown Princess choosing a black blazer dress from Christian Dior.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra will also have another major first as the visit continues when she attends her first State Dinner.
