Leah, daughter of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, confirmed

Leah Behn, sixth in line to the Norwegian throne, was confirmed on Saturday. The confirmation was not announced by the royal court in advance, but it was later confirmed that the entire Norwegian royal family was present during the ceremony. The event became known when Leah’s mother, Princess Märtha Louise, published photographs of her daughter with a touching greeting on her Instagram account.

Princess Märtha Louise wrote: “My wonderful and talented Leah Isadora had her confirmation yesterday. You looked so beautiful in your new “bunad”. I am so proud of you, my darling. You dare to follow your dreams and follow your intuition, you have inherited your artistic touch coming to light ….from your dad, grandparents and great grandparents on both sides.”

Princess Märtha Louise continued: “I love how loving and true you are with your emotions, I love your humor and your cheekiness, I love everything about you. Your dad would have been so proud of you and said that you are the most talented young woman in the world embarking on a journey of great fame and success. You are made for sharing your esthetic talent with the world. And with you in it, the world is just that bit more beautiful. Congratulations on your Confirmation, darling. I love you with all my heart.”

In the photos, it is clear that these were taken at the Skauagum Estate, the Crown Prince’s family residence. There is, therefore, a reason to believe that the family had a private lunch or dinner there after the confirmation ceremony.

Leha wore a bunad, a traditional Norwegian folk dress, from Telemark, which is likely to have been a present from her grandparents, King Harald and Queen Sonja, as they gave similar bunads to their elder granddaughters, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Maud Behn, for their confirmations.

Leah is the second of the three daughters born to Princess Märtha Louise and her late ex-husband, the writer Ari Behn. Leah Behn is also sixth in line to the Norwegian throne as a granddaughter of the present king, His Majesty King Harald V.
