Princess Alexia doesn’t let graduation from foreign high school keep her from important Dutch tradition

Princess Alexia didn’t let her graduation from the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales keep her from an important Dutch tradition.

The Princess, who is second in line to the Dutch throne, followed the Dutch tradition of graduating students and raised the Dutch flag with her school bag at her home after graduation.

Her father, King Willem-Alexander, filmed her raising the flag and bag at the top of Huis ten Bosch Palace.

Alexia received her International Baccalaureate diploma on 6 July, the Royal House announced.

Her older sister, the Princess of Orange, also took part in this tradition when she graduated in 2021.

The Dutch Royal Family was most recently seen together during their annual summer photo session on 30 June. It was held on the Zuiderstrand in The Hague.

Princess Alexia will take a gap year before continuing her studies. Further details about her education will be released in due course.
