A Queen’s advice on Blue Monday

MAXIMA

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has shared some advice on what has been dubbed “Blue Monday.”

The Queen posted two photographs on Instagram, sharing how she takes care of her mental and physical health while also encouraging others to get outside and take a walk.

Her Majesty wrote, “Exercise is good for your physical but also for your mental health, especially if you can do it outside. Today, on Blue Monday, I take a long walk. You too? – Máxima.”

The Queen of the Netherlands is seen on a walk with one of the family’s dogs, Mambo.

Blue Monday is considered the most depressing day of the year and usually falls on the third Monday in January.

Queen Máxima’s post is in line with her promise to focus more on mental health initiatives over the next ten years. She also tagged MIND on Instagram, which is a Dutch organisation focusing on mental health. The organisation organised MIND Blue Monday Run, which encouraged people to get out for a walk or run on “Blue Monday” for their health.

The Queen’s post was in line with the initiative and was reposted on the MIND Instagram’s story.
