Monaco

When will Princess Charlene return to Monaco?

Princess Charlene of Monaco has now been out of the principality since early spring due to an ear, nose and throat infection that grounded her in her home country of South Africa.

The Princess of Monaco has stayed busy in South Africa while in recovery. She has been passionate about saving rhinos and has made several posts in an effort to end poaching. She created the #ChasingZero initiative to “put an end to the atrocities that put our precious wildlife at risk.”

She’s made no secret that she misses her twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, dearly. They have made trips to South Africa to see her while she recovers.

The Princess of Monaco has had numerous surgeries to help her heal from the infection that forced her to stay in South Africa since May, and she said in July that she planned to return home to Monaco in October.

October has come and gone, and Her Serene Highness has still not returned to Monaco. However, her husband, Prince Albert, told People at the end of October that his wife would be home in just a few weeks and that she is “in good form and much better spirits.” He said she would be home ahead of Monaco’s National Day on 19 November.

The Princely Palace has given very few updates on Charlene’s health and has left the public wondering for the majority of the summer. How was she healing? When could she travel home? Was she going to return to Monaco, or were the rumours of relationship problems true? The occasional comment from Prince Albert to People or Point de Vue has only stopped speculation for a short period.

The concern for the Princess of Monaco has continued with photos she has posted on her Instagram, with many commenting on how she looks frail, especially her post on 17 October with the Zulu King. She’s published one other time since then with an old photo to announce the tragic death of her beloved dog on 26 October.

We reached out to the Princely Palace to check on Princess Charlene’s health and to see how she is recovering. We also inquired about her return to Monaco but have received no comment.

For now, speculation on Her Serene Highness’s health and the state of her marriage to Prince Albert continues while the world waits for news from the Princely Palace. Is she already back in Monaco, and will she indeed return ahead of National Day? There are so many questions but very few answers.
