American pop star and fashion designer Jessica Simpson’s five-year-old daughter was excited to get the chance to meet a real-life princess on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California. Simpson took her daughter, Maxwell, to the kickoff event for the Princess Grace Awards, which Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco was attending.
Simpson posted photos and a video of her daughter practising her curtsy before meeting the Monégasque royal. Young Maxwell was able to present Her Serene Highness with a bouquet of flowers and pose with her on the red carpet. Charlene hugged the five-year-old after receiving her flowers.

Jessica Simpson’s photos and video on Instagram were accompanied with the caption, “Maxwell’s dream to meet a real life princess coming true (and mom holding back her tears of pride!)”
Simpson also stated that her daughter was shy at first when she met the Princess of Monaco, but she added that the meeting went really well.
Princess Charlene, the wife of Prince Albert II of Monaco, was the guest of honour at the event bearing the name of her late mother-in-law, American actress Princess Grace (neé Kelly), who died in 1982.
The Princess Grace Foundation USA was established after her death by her husband Prince Rainier as a tribute to her legacy. The Princess was known to anonymously help emerging artists during her life, and the foundation works to continue her good work. Each year the Princess Grace award program is held to present artists and performers with scholarships to help them progress in their careers. It has awarded over USD 8 million to close to 500 dance, theatre, and film artists across the United States.
