Prince Charles of Luxembourg

Prince Charles of Luxembourg was christened into the Roman Catholic Church this afternoon at the Abbey of St. Maurice and St. Maurus of Clervaux in Clervaux, Luxembourg.

His godparents are his paternal uncle, Prince Louis of Luxembourg and his maternal aunt, Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy.

The ceremony was conducted by Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg with assistance by Leo Wagener, Fernand Franck, and Reverend Père Dom Michel Jorrot.

The media was not allowed inside for the ceremony, and the Grand Ducal Court released images and a video after the ceremony had concluded.

Members of the Grand Ducal Family in attendance, alongside Charles and his parents, were Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Louis, Prince Felix and Princess Claire with their two children (Princess Amalia and Prince Liam) and Prince Sébastien.

The Lannoy family was represented by the Hereditary Grand Duchess’s siblings, their spouses and children: Count and Countess Jehan de Lannoy with their children, Count and Countess Christian de Lannoy with their children, Countess Nathalie de Lannoy and John Hamilton, Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, Count and Countess Amaury de Lannoy, Count and Countess Olivier de Lannoy with their children, and Countess Isabelle de Lannoy and Jean-Charles de le Court and their children.
