While Queen Mary spent much of her time in Brazil last week learning about the Amazonian climate, King Frederik spent his time learning about water and the role it plays in climate.
The King visited the Danish Architecture Centre (the DAC) on Monday to see a new exhibition, “Water is Coming”.
King Frederik was welcomed to the DAC by CEO Kent Martinussen. He was given a tour of the exhibition by Martinussen, curators, and museum staff and was able to learn more about both local and larger scale issues and solutions.
According to the DAC, ”In the Water is Coming exhibition, DAC is seeking to create a deeper understanding of our dependence on water and the challenges it poses to our cities. The exhibition also presents different solutions for how we can live with water in the future.”
The Danish king looked quite animated while he was touring “Water is Coming”. He was named Royal Patron of the DAC in May.
The exhibition runs from 7 October 2024 to 23 March 2025 at the DAC in Copenhagen.
The event came just before an historic moment for the monarch – King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir (and her husband) for the first incoming state visit of their reign just hours later.
