IN PHOTOS: Denmark’s longest-reigning monarch

Queen Margrethe has made history in Denmark.

She is the longest-reigning monarch in Denmark’s history, reigning for 51 years, six months and four days. To honour her achievement, the Danish Royal House released new images taken of the Queen aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog this month.

Queen Margrethe surpassed King Christian IV as the country’s longest-reigning monarch; he reigned for approximately 51 years and six months.
