Danish royals release Easter photos

The Danish Royal Family has released Easter images ahead of the Christian holiday featuring Queen Margrethe with Crown Prince Frederik and his family at Marselisborg Palace.

The family is seen outside the palace in one snap and decorating Easter eggs in the other images. The Royal House said the photos were released to wish everyone a happy Easter.

Since Queen Margrethe took the throne, the Danish Royal Family has celebrated Easter at Marselisborg Palace in Aarhus. When her children, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim, were little, she and her late husband, Prince Henrik, started the tradition of painting Easter eggs with them. That tradition continues to this day, and the Queen now enjoys carrying on that tradition with her grandchildren.

The Queen is celebrating Easter with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary and their four children: Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and their two children: Prince Henrik and Princess Athena, currently reside in Paris for Joachim’s job as a Military Attaché at the Royal Danish Embassy.
