Crown Prince Frederik visits climate-friendly factories

Crown Prince Frederik has made environmental issues a main focus and has just visited a string of several industries that are now working to relocate their operations to meet the requirements of the future.

On the morning of March 14th 2022, Crown Prince Frederik, together with Danish Minister of Climate, Dan Jørgensen, visited two Danish companies on Funen that are involved in developing and implementing technologies that will assist Denmark in the green transition.

For the Crown Prince, it is very important to help focus on companies that work with the green technologies of the future. The day started at Estech Water Centre South, in the city of Odense. There, he was given a tour and shown pilot facilities for capturing and storing CO2, also called CCS. Technology is a crucial piece for Denmark to meet its climate goals.

During the visit, the Crown Prince himself launched the largest demo plant for pyrolysis on Danish soil to this date, known as SkyClean. Technology is expected to play an important role when reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Danish agriculture. In the long run, the company also reckons that technology can be combined with green hydrogen and produce green fuel, for example for aircraft.

Later, Crown Prince Frederik visited Nature Energy in Odense. He was given a tour of the company’s laboratory and told about the work of rolling out a full-scale Power-to-X plant, which will provide significant CO2 reductions by 2030.
