Future Queen Fashion 2024: Princess Elisabeth of Belgium

Princess Elisabeth of Belgium has had an exceptionally busy year. In July, the Duchess of Brabant graduated from Lincoln College, Oxford, with her Bachelor of History and Politics. After spending time in Paris for the Olympic Games with her siblings, she started her Masters in Public Policy (MPP) degree in the autumn at Harvard. And she continued to develop a strong sense of sartorial style with several striking looks.

The heir to the Belgian throne joined her father, King Philippe, when former US President Barack Obama visited Laeken Castle ahead of giving an address at a tech roundtable. Elisabeth chose one of her most stunning looks to date: a bold and bright blue tuxedo-style blazer and wide-legged trousers from Jigsaw.

While the cut matched the formality of the event, the satin detailing on the lapels and wrapped waist elevate the look and provide a playful dimension. She wore the suit for a second time this year when she wore it for photos with her father and grandfather, King Albert II, in June.

Shortly before graduating from Oxford, Princess Elisabeth attended Belgium’s National Day celebrations with her parents and siblings. The Duchess of Brabant wore a vibrant and energetic pink midi-dress from royal fashion favourite Safiyaa. The dress features a simple but bold shoulder cape and draping detailing at the back.

She chose a coordinating wrapped headband from Fabienne Delvigne, as well as a clutch from the brand. To finish the look, Elisabeth wore Jimmy Choo pumps in a nude suede.

The Belgian Royal Family released portraits of Princess Elisabeth at the end of October to mark her 23rd birthday. The portraits, taken by Max Bueno in Cambridge where the princess is studying at Harvard, show a relaxed side to the Belgian heir.

Elisabeth chose a casual look for the portraits with a vest with frilled sleeves and a black sash at the waist to go with a midi skirt with a slit to the knee. The striped look paired with the sleeve shape and black details make for an interesting look for a princess developing her own style.
