January:
The Danish royals attended their annual New Year receptions in Copenhagen.
Tens of thousands turned out to see Japan’s Emperor Akihito for the New Year.
King Juan Carlos of Spain celebrated his 80th birthday.
Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark celebrated their 7th birthday with new photos.

Princess Sofia of Sweden received her first foreign order during the Icelandic state visit to Sweden.

February:
The Norwegian royals welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Oslo.

It was announced Princess Mako of Japan’s wedding was to be postponed due to lack of preparation.
The Belgian Royal Family released images from holiday.
Tragically, Prince Henrik of Denmark died at the age of 83, and his private funeral was held later in the month.
