Father of Princess Rawja passes away

The father of Princess Rajwa Al Hussein has passed away, according to a statement from the Royal Hashemite Court.

In a statement shared on the Jordanian Royal Family’s website, they announced that Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif passed away at the age of 71. No cause of death has been released.

Crown Prince Hussein shared a message on his official Instagram alongside a picture of him embracing his father-in-law. The caption reads: “‏With profound sadness and sorrow, we bid farewell to my beloved father-in-law. We will always remember his kindness, generosity, and integrity. May God bestow mercy upon him and grant us patience and strength.”

Princess Rajwa is the youngest child of Khaled Al Saif and Azza Al Sudairi and has three older siblings: Faisel, Nayef and Dana. She married Crown Prince Hussein in Amman, Jordan last June and became a Jordanian princess.

Since her wedding, Princess Rajwa has accompanied the Jordanian Royal Family on engagements within the country and abroad.

The Jordanian Royal Family have announced three days of official mourning for Princess Rajwa’s father, beginning on 18 February.

The statement on the Royal Hashemite Court’s website says of Khaled Al Saif “may his soul rest in peace” and that “The Royal Hashemite Court expresses its deepest sympathies and condolences to Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, and to Al Saif family in these difficult times.”
