Double royal wedding joy in Jordan as Crown Prince Hussein announces engagement

There’s double wedding joy in Jordan as King Abdullah and Queen Rania’s eldest child, Crown Prince Hussein, has announced his engagement.

The Royal Hashemite Court made the announcement on 17 August, saying that the Crown Prince is engaged to Saudi Arabian Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif.

“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce the engagement of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to Ms Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif, on Wednesday, 17 August 2022, in the presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah,” they said.

They became engaged at Rajwa’s father’s home in Riyadh. The Crown Prince’s younger brother, Prince Hashem, was also in attendance, as were other Jordanian Royal Family members, Prince Hassan, Prince Ali, Prince Hashim, Prince Ghazi, and Prince Rashid. The bride-to-be’s family also witnessed the engagement.

The Royal Court has not announced a date for the wedding.

Queen Rania took to social media to congratulate her son and share her joy. She said on Instagram: “I didn’t think it was possible to hold so much joy in my heart! Congratulations to my eldest Prince Hussein and his beautiful bride-to-be, Rajwa.”

She also shared several unseen images of the couple from the engagement ceremony.

Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif was born in Riyadh on 28 April 1994 to Khalid bin Musaed Al-Saif, a Saudi businessman, and Azza bint Naif Al-Sudairi. Upon her marriage, she will become the Crown Princess of Jordan.

Crown Prince Hussein’s engagement comes just weeks after his younger sister, Princess Iman, announced her engagement to Venezuelan-born Jameel Alexander Thermiotis. No date has been set for their nuptials.
