Queen Camilla was joined by Peter Phillips and his wife, Harriet, as they watched British wildcard Arthur Fery produce a historic victory at Wimbledon.
The trio took their seats in the Royal Box on Centre Court, where they witnessed Fery defeat Italy’s Flavio Cobolli 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 to become the first British wildcard in the Open Era to reach the men’s singles semi-finals.
Making her annual visit to the All England Club, Her Majesty was accompanied by her sister, Annabel Elliot, while Peter and Harriet were among the guests invited to the prestigious Royal Box.
Before play began, The Queen met tournament officials, volunteers and long-serving members of staff. She was introduced to former British number one Heather Watson, greeted veteran safety officer Pete Dobson ahead of his retirement, and spoke with representatives from the food redistribution charity City Harvest, which is supported by the Wimbledon Foundation.
Camilla also met ball boy Zebedee and ball girl Aniya before heading onto Centre Court.
Following the women’s quarter-final between Marta Kostyuk and Jasmine Paolini, The Queen greeted both Arthur Fery and Flavio Cobolli as they prepared for their match, shaking hands with the players before taking her seat.
Fery then produced the performance of his career, sealing victory with an ace before falling to the grass in celebration as Centre Court erupted. The Queen, Peter and Harriet joined the standing ovation for the 23-year-old’s remarkable achievement.
Also among those in the Royal Box were actor Dominic West, who portrayed King Charles III in Netflix’s The Crown, and actress Elle Fanning.
The Queen’s appearance marked her fourth consecutive visit to Wimbledon on the tournament’s tenth day and followed last week’s visit by the Princess of Wales, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, who met spectators in The Queue before watching play alongside Sir Andy Murray.
