The Princess of Wales and the Princess Royal found themselves in rarified company thanks to British Vogue this week: they’re two of 25 of the United Kingdom’s most influential working women.

The Princess of Wales’s citation notes that following her cancer diagnosis, she carries herself “with the air of someone with her priorities in order: family, country, philanthropy.”

British Vogue makes note of her early years’ initiatives and patronage of the arts, as well as how “no one brings more wattage” when it comes to spotlighting people and causes.

Princess Anne’s citation notes how despite the past year being one of the most difficult for the Royal Family, she still “remained steadfast” and in the spotlight as King Charles and Catherine stepped away from their public duties for treatment, “taking on a staggering 217 public engagements.”

That Princess Anne turns 75 this August also rated a mention, “marking three quarters of a century dedicated to representing the nation, and she shows no signs of slowing down.”

The other honourees include Amal Clooney, the human rights lawyer and advocate; singer Chloe Qisha; director Munroe Bergdorf; Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Ex-Chequer; conservationist and chimpanzee expert Jane Goodall; and Lady Chief Justice Sue Carr.

This is the second commendation for Catherine in less than a month.

In late May, she and Prince William were named to the Time100 Philanthropy List for their work on behalf of their patronages and charitable endeavours.

“Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues, tackling homelessness and rural mental health,” Time wrote in their citation for the royal couple.

“Crucial to the Waleses’ approach is aligning social imperatives with sound business strategies and building corporate alliances to expand their reach.”
