What ‘light duties’ will The Queen be taking on as she recovers from Covid?

The Queen continues to recuperate at Windsor Castle after testing positive for Covid.

Her Majesty is experiencing ‘mild, cold like symptoms’ and her health is being monitored. It’s understood that the Monarch, who is 95, has been triple vaccinated.

In the statement announcing that The Queen had coronavirus, Buckingham Palace said she would continue with light duties while in isolation.

This will include working through her red boxes as well as carrying out phone calls. It’s not clear whether Her Majesty will take on any virtual meetings – at the moment, there is nothing listed in the royal diary for the week ahead.

The Queen’s next in person engagements were already scheduled for March 2022.

Buckingham Palace announced that The Queen had tested positive for Covid on February 20th 2022. It’s understood a number of cases of coronavirus have been reported at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty took up residence at the castle on February 7th having spent the previous two weeks at Sandringham where she marked the 70th anniversary of her accession on February 6th 2022.
