
The Queen has been seen attending to business as usual as her Platinum Jubilee is celebrated around the world.
On the 70th anniversary of her Accession, February 6th 2022, Her Majesty was seen attending to her red boxes in a special image.
The Queen was photographed getting on with her daily work at Sandringham House where she is spending her Platinum Jubilee. A picture of her father, King George VI, can be seen at her side as she attends to her usual constitutional affairs.
Ahead of the anniversary, The Queen spoke of her father in a special statement marking her Jubilee. She said of the anniversary of her accession that ” It is a day that, even after 70 years, I still remember as much for the death of my father, King George VI, as for the start of my reign.”
The Queen also renewed her promise that her whole life would be dedicated to the service of her country and signed the historic message as ”Your Servant, Elizabeth R.”
Crowds gathered at Sandringham on February 6th 2022 as the anniversary dawned.
The Queen took the throne on February 6th 1952 and has now become the first British Monarch to reign for 70 years.
The main celebrations for her Jubilee will be held at the start of June 2022.
