The Duke of Edinburgh is beginning his second month as a patient at King Edward VII’s Hospital having been admitted this time last month on February 16.
The 99-year-old prince was admitted to hospital after feeling unwell in what Buckingham Palace initially described as a “precautionary measure.”
However, it since emerged that the Duke was being treated for an infection and a pre-existing heart condition.
A couple of weeks ago, the Queen’s husband was transported to St Bartholomew’s Hospital where he underwent a heart operation.
He was soon moved back to the private Edward VII’s where he has remained since.
In what is his longest ever hospital stay, Prince Philip has only had the one visitor due to strict government regulations.
The Prince of Wales visited his father a few days into his stay due to “exceptional circumstances.”
Buckingham Palace has not issues many updates since the Duke’s admission, but they have said throughout that he is comfortable and is in good spirits.
