The Duke of Edinburgh discharged from hospital after a month long stay

The Duke of Edinburgh has been discharged from King Edward VII’s Hospital in London and has returned to Windsor Castle to be alongside The Queen.

The Duke was spotted leaving hospital on Tuesday morning after a month long stay.

In what was his longest ever hospital admission, 99-year-old Prince Philip spent over three weeks in two Central London hospitals as a patient where he was being treated for an infection and a pre-existing heart condition.

The Duke was admitted to King Edward VII’s hospital on February 16 after “feeling unwell” in what was at the time described as a “precautionary measure.”

On March 1, two weeks after his initial admittance, the Prince was transferred via ambulance to St Barts – Europe’s leading cardiovascular hospital.

At St Barts, the Duke underwent heart surgery before being transferred back to King Edward VII’s where he spent a week recovering.
