The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a couple of new photos over the weekend to mark both Father’s Day in the UK, as well as Prince William’s 38th birthday. In the photo, William is sitting on a swing with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
According to reports, the swing William and the children are sitting on was a wedding present from his father, Prince Charles. Kate snapped the photo earlier this month at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where the family has been isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
William only recently returned to face-to-face royal duties last week, with a visit to the King’s Lynn Ambulance station at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to thank the ambulance staff for their work during the pandemic and to chat about their mental health.
On Friday, he visited Smiths The Bakers in King’s Lynn to see how non-essential businesses are handling re-opening as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.
William was presented with a birthday cake from the bakery, and purchased sweets for the children, telling the bakery owners that Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte would be disappointed if he turned up emptyhanded.
Kensington Palace noted on social media that William had also discussed “how coronavirus restrictions have impacted on the family-run business, with 80% of the company’s wholesale customers having to close their own operations.”
William turns 38 on Sunday, which is also Father’s Day in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
Speaking about parenthood in the ‘Football, Prince William and our Mental Health’ BBC documentary last month, William revealed that, “Me and Catherine particularly, we support each other and we go through those moments together and we kind of evolve and learn together…”
William is the oldest son of Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. He was born on 21 June 1982, and has been second in line for the British throne since his birth.
