With the release of new photos in celebration of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s 10th wedding anniversary, people were reminded of another gorgeous dress Victoria wore during her wedding celebrations.
The Crown Princess dusted off her blush Elie Saab gown from the gala performance on the night before her wedding for a few photos and let her hair down, which she doesn’t often do.
Victoria turned to Elie Saab for the gown she needed to wear for the pre-wedding gala performance on 18 June 2010. The royal’s gown was based on a beaded one-shouldered gown by the designer. Saab tweaked this design to make it unique for Victoria, and it quickly became a favourite of Victoria’s look for many.
In the bespoke version for the future monarch, a ruffled train was added to the blush gown for the gala performance hosted by the Riksdag (Sweden’s parliament) at the Stockholm Concert Hall. That evening, she also wore the Royal Family’s diamond Epaulette Earrings and Diamond Arrow Brooch in her hair.
The Saab dress – which came close to outshining the Pär Engsheden wedding gown – featured in the Royal Wedding Dresses exhibit at the Royal Palace of Stockholm in 2016-2017, and in a sweet tribute, Crown Princess Victoria dusted it off this month to take her 10th-anniversary wedding portraits with her husband.
