The Princess Royal once fell victim to a wolf-whistle while conducting an official engagement, but all was not as it seemed.
Taking to Twitter over the weekend, thousands of users have been sharing stories which sound like a lie, but are absolutely true.
Rig Saunders recounted his unlikely story on the micro-blogging site involving The Queen’s daughter and an escaped parrot.
Mr Saunders said: “Princess Anne was opening up a new hospital near my secondary school.
“She arrived by helicopter in our sports field, so the school organised a welcoming party’s of Year 7 kids.
“As she was walking past, somebody wolf-whistled.
“They had them in detention for days trying to get someone to own up to it.
“Turns out it was a parrot that had escaped from the local pet shop.”
