Baby Sussex is finally here, and the world couldn’t be more excited. From celebrations and tributes all over the place, even one of the Duchess of Sussex’s patronages is celebrating. Mayhew, a charity aimed towards animal welfare has named one of their kittens Archie. Currently 7-weeks-old, Archie will be looking for a royal household of his own in the near future.
Mayhew aims to improve the life of dogs, cats and people within the London community as well as internationally. Having a close relationship with the Duchess, Mayhew CEO Caroline Yates posted a congratulatory message to the Sussexes.
“On behalf of everyone at Mayhew, I would like to send our most heartfelt congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby boy. We are all absolutely thrilled to hear the exciting news, and hope they are enjoying this special time together as a new family.”
The Duchess had her official visit to Mayhew back in January. Six-months pregnant at the time, Meghan spent the day with staff and volunteers as she toured the facility. Having visiting privately before, Meghan took the time to meet with those who have benefitted from the charity’s work.
Meghan is known to be a dog lover. Prior to marrying Prince Harry, Meghan had two rescue dogs, a Labrador-shepherd mix named Bogart and a beagle named Guy. Â It is said that Guy made the move from Toronto to London, but Bogart was too old to join the family on the other side of the pond. Just a few months into their marriage, Harry and Meghan adopted a Labrador puppy.
The Duchess gave birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on 6 May at 05:26 am. Â At the time of birth, he weighed 7lb 3oz. The Duke of Sussex was present for the delivery.
