The traditional bulletin announcing the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child has been placed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.
The framed bulletin was brought out of the Privy Purse Door and was carried across the forecourt where it was placed on the easel.
The typewritten note, in its wooden frame, was carried through the Privy Purse door of the Palace just after 16.30pm. It read:
‘The Queen and the Royal Family are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 05.26am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well’
The bulletin will be on display until 8pm tomorrow (Thursday).
The announcement of the birth of the royal baby had been made on Monday afternoon where it was revealed that the Duchess had given birth to a boy.
It was Prince Harry himself who announced the news of his new arrival in an address to the media.
In full, the Duke said: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy boy.”
“Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It has been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.
“We are both thrilled and are so grateful to all of the love and support out from everybody out there.
“We are still thinking about names. The baby is a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, but that’s the next bit.
“We will be seeing you guys in two days time as planned to everybody can see the baby.
“I haven’t been in many births, this is definitely my first birth.
“I am so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing
“This little thing is absolutely to die for – I am over the moon.”
