The Duke of Cambridge’s Private Secretary, Miguel Head, is leaving his role it has announced.
Mr Head has served the Cambridge Family for a decade and will depart in July.
He will be replaced by Simon Case, a civil servant in the Department for Exiting the European Union.
Mr Case became Director General Northern Ireland and Ireland in January 2018. He was previously Director-General at UKRep for the UK-EU Partnership.
He was also Principal Private Secretary for the Prime Minister in 2016-2017, serving both David Cameron and Theresa May.
Previously he was Director of Strategy at GCHQ. Simon joined the Civil Service in 2006.
A wave of senior palace officials have resigned over the past year. In 2017, Buckingham Palace announced that Edward Young would become Her Majesty’s new Private Secretary replacing Sir Christopher Geidt who was reportedly ‘ousted’ from the palace.
The Queen’s Assistant Private Secretary, Samantha Cohen, also resigned following the announcement of Sir Christopher’s departure.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s Private Secretary, Rebecca Priestly, also left her position along with the Private Secretary for Charles and Camilla, Mark Leishman.
Edward Lane Fox, Prince Harry’s private secretary, is also said to be considering to leave.
