Twiggy, Gareth Southgate and Harry Kane are amongst the 1,148 people named in the 2019 New Year’s Honours List.
The model, actress and singer, Twiggy, has been awarded a Damehood in the New Year’s Honours for services to Fashion, Arts & Charity.
Dame Twiggy, also known as Lesley Lawson, was an icon of the 1960s and has enjoyed a career spanning for over 50 years.
Speaking of her honour, Dame Twiggy said: “I’m a very proud Brit, I feel I’m an ambassador for Britain, I always have.
“My only sadness with this is my mum and dad aren’t here to know. They’d have been so proud.”
Also receiving honours in the 2019 list are members of the England football team who had a successful World Cup in the summer, reaching the semi-finals.
Manager Gareth Southgate has been awarded an OBE, with England Captain and Golden Boot Winner Harry Kane being invested with an MBE.
Also receiving an honour from the world of sport is record-breaking cricketer Alastair Cook, who has been knighted following his retirement from international cricket.
Monty Python star Michael Palin has been knighted for services to travel, culture and geography.
Speaking of his honour, Sir Michael said he would mark his achievement by: “just having a quiet celebration, just myself and a glass of Horlicks and then go to bed”.
Following his Tour de France win earlier this year, Geraint Thomas has been made an OBE for services to cycling.

Also being knighted is award-winning author Philip Pullman for services to literature.
Journalist and broadcaster Chris Packham has been awarded a CBE for services to nature conservation.
Also receiving CBEs are Children’s author Julia Donaldson, award-winning actress Sophie Okonedo and musician Nicola Benedetti.
From the world of politics, Conservative MP, John Redwood, has been knighted for political and public service.
Labour MP Alan Campbell has also been knighted, as has Conservative MP, Gary Streeter.
Receiving an OBE is vocal coach David Grant for services to music.
Alison Nimmo, Chief Executive of The Crown Estate, has been awarded a Damehood for public service and services to the Exchequer.
Richard Stanton MBE and John Volanthen have been awarded the George Medal for their efforts in the rescue of 12 junior footballers and their coach, trapped in a cave in Thailand.
Also receiving honours for their part in the Thailand Cave Rescue are Christopher Jewell and Jason Mallinson who receive the Queen’s Gallantry Medal.
70% of the recipients on the 2019 honours list are people who have undertaken outstanding work in their communities either in a voluntary or paid capacity;
544 women are recognised in the list, representing 47% of the total, with 12% of the successful candidates coming from a BAME background.
