Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden have shared a summer greeting on their official Instagram account.
The Prince Couple posted a photo of their two sons, two-year-old Prince Alexander and 11-month-old Prince Gabriel. In the image, the Princes are sitting on a bench at Solliden Palace on the island of Öland. Solliden Palace is the summer home and personal private property of King Carl XVI Gustaf – Prince Carl Philip’s father and Princes Alexander and Gabriel’s grandfather.
With the photograph on their social media account, Their Royal Highnesses said in Swedish, “Summer at Solliden” with a yellow heart at the end of the message.
At the time of writing this article, the post had garnered over 24,000 likes and over 200 comments.
Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia started their public Instagram account on Carl Philip’s 39th birthday on 13 May 2018. It was initially a private Instagram account that was created in June 2017 where they posted pictures about their private lives such as behind the scene photos of the Nobel Prize, family trips, adorable snaps of their children, about Princess Sofia’s work for her charity Project Playground, etc.
They are not the only members of the Swedish Royal Family to have their own Instagram account. Princess Madeleine also has an account which can be followed here. At the time of the announcement of Madeleine’s account, the Royal Court said that other accounts were in the works by members of the Royal Family; we now know that it was the Prince Couple’s account. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia married in June 2015. Their first child, Prince Alexander was born on 19 April 2016. Their second child, Prince Gabriel (who Alexander calls Gabby) was born a little over a year after his older brother on 31 August 2017.
