Who is Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark?

Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark is the youngest daughter and second youngest child of exiled Greek King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie (born a Princess of Denmark). Her older siblings include Princess Alexia, Crown Prince Pavlos, and Prince Nikolas, and she has one younger brother, Prince Philippos. As a descendant of Queen Victoria, she is in the British line of succession, as well as being ninth in line for the former Greek throne. Princess Theodora will be celebrating her 36th birthday on 9 June 2019.

Theodora was born on 9 June 1983 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Theodora’s godparents include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark (her maternal aunt), His Majesty King Michael of Romania, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain (her paternal aunt), and Crown Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia. Her christening was held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sophia in London on 10 October 1983.

Theodora attended the Woldingham School boarding school, located in Surrey, England, from 1994 to 2001. She spent her gap year at St. Philip’s College in Australia and then moved to the United States for university. She enrolled at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, under the name Theodora Greece, and also took classes at Northeastern University in Boston. In May of 2006, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Brown. She also took some graduate courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London afterwards.

Continuing to use the name Theodora Greece professionally, she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to further pursue her acting career. She spent over five years performing on the long-running US soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, playing secretary Alison Montgomery. She has also performed in several different movies and productions, including Little Boy.

In October of 2018, King Constantine’s private office announced Theodora’s engagement to American lawyer Matthew Kumar. The couple had been dating since 2016 and live together in California. There has yet to be an announcement regarding the date of the wedding, but given her connections to several royal houses across Europe, her wedding will certainly be an event of the year.
