Proud mum Kate can be seen in the portrait cradling her son with Prince William by her side as they both look adoringly at their three-month-old son.

George, who is dressed in the replica Honiton lace gown originally made for Queen Victoria’s daughter, Victoria in 1841, can be seen bursting into laughter at his parents’ gaze.

The intimate portrait is the fifth photo that has been released to the public from Prince George’s christening, which took place earlier this week.

Hollywood photographer Jason Bell, who has snapped some of the biggest stars in the world including Kate Winslet and Nicole Kidman, took the official portraits in the Morning Room at Clarence House.

Taking to his official Twitter page after the ceremony, he tweeted: “It was an absolute pleasure to have been involved in such a joyful occasion.”

He had previously spoke of his excitement at being asked to take the historic snaps, which included one of the Queen with the three future heirs, Charles, William and George.

“I’m honoured that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked me to photograph the christening of their son Prince George,” the photographer said in a statement. “I’m privileged to be recording this moment in history.”

Prince William and Kate were joined by close family and friends on Wednesday afternoon at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace for their son’s christening, which was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

During the 30-minute service, attended by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, Kate revealed Prince George behaved very well.

“He was such a good boy actually,” she told guests at a charity dinner on Thursday evening. “We were very lucky, he’s not always like that.”

“I think he enjoys all the different people and I think there was lots of action going on. He gets slightly distracted.”

The Duchess was speaking as she attended the 100 Women in Hegde Funds’ Gala at Kensington Palace.

Leaving William to look after George, Kate made her way to the State Apartments for the reception which raised funds for Action on Addiction, of which she became patron of in 2012.
