The Yorks

Unexpected royals in baggage area at Norwegian airport as Sarah Ferguson and her daughters pay a visit to see the whales

Last week, Norway paid host to an informal visit from members of the British Royal Family. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were joined by their mother Sarah, Duchess of York for a holiday in Northern Norway. The Princesses were accompanied by their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank. The trip came just days after Princess Eugenie confirmed she is expecting her second child.

The Duchess of York embarked on the Norwegian holiday just days after she spoke at the funeral of her friend Lisa Marie Presley – Elvis Presley’s daughter. The British royals arrived in the city of Tromsø before traveling out of the largest town in Northern Norway. According the Norwegian press the British royals have been spotted whale watching, seeing the northern lights and shopping in local stores.

Sarah, Duchess of York, also made time for a short interview with the Norwegian newspaper Nordlys just before leaving for Oslo.

The Duchess said: “We love Norway! We have been to the Arctic Circle. We have travelled to see whales. As a family, we support the work against climate change. We love to learn from the Norwegian people, how they have done very well to ensure good management of the herring – also for the whales.”

When asked if the Duchess are planning to come back to Norway the Duchess answered: “Of course, I love Norway.”
