On Tuesday, Princess Beatrice spoke at a Women4Tech business event. The 30-year-old attended a conference at the Mobile World Congress 2019, which was held at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.
Princess Beatrice took the opportunity to talk about women in business in today’s current Spanish culture. Sparking similarities to the Duchess of Sussex and her passion for feminism, many wondered if “The Meghan Affect” was influencing family members to speak on new issues such as feminism.
As the sister of Princess Eugenie and the daughter of Sarah, Duchess of York, Beatrice spoke on how more woman would help the business industry grow.
“It was not until I entered the workplace did my understandings of the role of women play in business suddenly dawn on me.”
She went on to add, “Slowly the gender norms started dot make themselves known and in doing so created an uncomfortable environment for my passionate problem solving determination.
“This started to make me think how working for a technology company I could begin to make a difference in challenging gender norms, especially when it comes to technology, an area that has a reputation for being a boys club.
“Empowering women is essential for creating jobs, growth and innovation.”
While Meghan Markle addresses feminism quite frequently, the main difference between Meghan and Beatrice is that Beatrice is not known as a “working royal.” Beatrice earns her own private income and works in the business field. Whereas Meghan is now a full-time working royal since marrying Prince Harry last spring.
Beatrice was seen leaving a nightclub over the weekend with her new boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Edoardo is 34-years-old and a property developer. He also has a two-year-old son from a previous partner. The two were seen leaving Chiltern Firehouse in London. Beatrice and Edoardo are said to have been dating since October 2019.
