The arrival of Princess Eugenie’s baby boy has made the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh great grandparents for the ninth time. And the new arrival, first child of Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, is the fourth great grandson they have welcomed to their every growing family.
Baby Brooksbank, whose first name is still unknown, arrived safely at 8.55am on the morning of February 9th 2021. His arrival was announced by Buckingham Palace at 5pm the same day with the Princess posting her happy news just moments later on her Instagram account.
The new eleventh in line to the throne joins Prince George of Cambridge, 7, Prince Louis of Cambridge, 2, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, 1, as great grandsons to Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. They also have five great granddaughters: Savannah Phillips, 10, Isla Phillips, 8, Mia Tindall, 7, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, 5, and Lena Tindall, 2.
The Queen and the Duke will welcome a tenth great grandchild later this year. Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike, are awaiting the birth of their third baby with the expectant father already expressing his hopes for a son.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank married on October 12th 2018 at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor.
