The Duke and Duchess of Camridge are the proud parents of a new baby boy.
Born on 23 April 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge was only in hospital for around 12 hours when the happy parents left with their bundle of joy.
As they loaded the car seat with the little prince into the car, Prince William remarked to the crowd that this baby means “thrice worry now!”
He also teased on what has now known as the ‘Great Kate Wait’, saying “we didn’t keep you waiting too long this time.”
The rumoured due date of baby number 3 was the 23rd and he came right on time!
As for the name for the new prince, all William said was “you’ll find out soon.”
Typically a few days pass until the formal annoucement on the name is made. Arthur, Philip and James are all front runners.
Before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared outside the Lindo Wing, Prince William jetted home to bring back Prince George and Prince Charlotte so the could meet their new brother.
The two young royals were both born at the same hospital. Catherine gave birth to George in the Lindo Wing in 2013, and to Charlotte in 2015.
The Duchess of Cambridge went into labour in the early morning hours and was admitted into the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hosptial on St George’s Day before 6 am. Kensington Palace announced around 8:30am this morning that Her Royal Highness had been admitted to hospital with the Duke of Cambridge at her side.
A few hours later at 11:01, the Duchess gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs 7oz.
Her Majesty The Queen was the first to be notified of the birth. From there Kensington Palace tweeted out the news and an easel with all the birth details will be placed outside of Buckingham Palace before the end of the day.
The name of the new baby will be announced in a few days time.
