British patriotism is on full display in London this week and we’re not just talking about the highly decorated Mall.
The Princess of Wales is showing her British pride as well. Hopping on the Tube – the Elizabeth Line no less – heading to the pub and having a pint, dressed in red, white and a hint of blue.
The tailored red Eponine London dress coat, is a favorite of Catherine’s. The lining is a bright teal blue which flashed as she made her way through the crowd. Last year during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the Princess of Wales wore the bright red coat on a visit to Cardiff. In 2021, she wore it to the launch of her photography book “Hold Still.”
Another familiar part of the ensemble is a white buttoned down shirt dress by Suzannah. This dress was last worn by the Princess for a day out at Wimbledon in 2019.
To complete the look, the Princess of Wales carried a Mulberry Amberley purse, white Gianvito Rossi heels and gold pearl hoop earrings by Maria Black.
The Princess of Wales seems to be following Queen Elizabeth II’s example in wearing bright colours. Even those in the crowd noticed.
Mandy Leifheit, a royal fan who came out to see the couple, said: “I saw her walk up in the red coat, and I thought it’s kind of like the (late) Queen in bright colours so people can spot her and I almost teared up.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales wanted to learn more about how the hospitality and transportation industries are preparing for the Coronation weekend. They also wanted to extend their appreciation for all the hard work they do.
Posting on their social media account, the couple said: “Saying a big thank you to the transport and hospitality workers who will be working so hard across the #Coronation weekend. A big thank you to @transportforlondon, the team at the 🐕 & 🦆 as well as everyone who came out to say hello.”
