Prince & Princess of Wales

George, Charlotte and Louis at mum’s side as Princess of Wales looks to the future with hope

Back in March, when the Princess of Wales shared with the world she was undergoing treatment for cancer, she sat alone. Now, as she reveals her relief at completing chemotherapy, Catherine has been seen in a new video. Like most personal messages from the Wales Family this year, the video shows personal and candid moments. And George, Charlotte and Louis were at their heart.

In the video, Catherine shares that she has come to the end of her chemotherapy treatment. She touches on the last nine months and how they can be scary but navigating it with those closest to you, makes things a bit easier.

While the family often shares videos of their children and them on holiday, this video was nothing short. During the three-minute montage, the Princess can be seen spending time in nature with her three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. You can see some extra moments with her youngest, Louis. Though this bond may not surprise many as during public engagements, they are often seen being extra snuggly or cheeky.

The three young royals also raise a smile with mum as she sits on a picnic blanket with them and one by one they check on the camera. It’s Prince George who starts the fun, going right up to it and asking ”is this recording”. Princess Charlotte looks rather more whimsical while Prince Louis, as we’d expect, approaches the camera with a fun filled gusto that just about leaves it standing. Catherine can’t contain her giggles.

Not only do we see Catherine and William playing with their three children, but the video also offers a look into life with Grandpa and Grandma Middleton. It is rare to see the Princess’s parents, Carole and Michael in the public eye. But it is especially rare to get a look into their life behind the cameras with their three grandchildren. They are seen at the Wales family home in Norfolk where the video was filmed in August.

The video, narrated by the Princess, ends with her family playing and splashing in water, and sharing some laughs. Catherine had a powerful message for those going through cancer and all the worries that come with it, so many of them focused on family.

The Princess says ”“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

The Princess mentions that she will undertake a few more public engagements in the coming months when she can but, for now, she has her husband and her children at her side and their difficult journey, hopefully, just got a little easier.
