Thomas Markle has said that he is “honoured and grateful” that the Prince of Wales will walk his daughter down the aisle in St George’s Chapel tomorrow.
Earlier today Kensington Palace announced that Prince Charles would walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry after Mr Markle could not attend due to ill health.
He underwent an operation earlier this week for a heart condition meaning he is unable to travel to the UK for Harry & Meghan’s wedding.
Thomas Markle told TMZ that he spoke to both Meghan and Harry yesterday. Meghan gave Thomas her love and expressed her worries about his health.
He reassured Meghan that his surgery went well and that he is recovering.
Thomas says he will be proud watching Meghan tomorrow. He will watch the ceremony in a “safe and secluded place” with friends and “hopefully no press”.
He added that Meghan and Harry have no plans to visit him at the moment because they are both preoccupied
