Prince Charles and President Trump to finally meet on Wednesday at President Bush’s funeral

Clarence House has announced that the Prince of Wales will travel to Washington on Wednesday to represent The Queen at the state funeral of President George H.W. Bush who died last week.

Prince Charles will join dignitaries from across the world, including the King & Queen of Jordan and current US President Donald Trump.

This will likely mark the first meeting between President Trump and the future King, who for the past two years have both been determined to avoid each other.

During his state visit to the United Kingdom earlier this year, President Trump was said to be extremely reluctant to meet the Prince of Wales because of the pair’s differing views on climate change.

The President, who has previously said that climate change is a myth invented by the Chinese, does not want to take a lecture from The Prince of Wales who is a climate change campaigner, according to The Sunday Times.

Speaking to The Times, a source said: “Trump’s people are worried about an awkward moment, with Prince Charles saying ‘Why don’t you believe in climate change?’

“They do not want the President put in an awkward position where he’s being lectured. They want horses down the Mall, tea with William & Kate.

“They want all that pomp and for it to go seamlessly, and one of the risk factors is Charles.”

Similarly, Prince Charles was reluctant to form part of the State Visit’s itinerary and instead remained at Highgrove House leaving The Queen to deal with the President at Windsor alone.

Fortunately for President Trump, a funeral is neither the time nor place for a discussion on climate change. That being said, conversations have taken unpredictables turn in the past.
