A new photo has been released of the Duchess of Cornwall to mark her 73rd birthday today. The photo was taken earlier this week by Chris Jackson in the gardens of Clarence House. The Duchess is wearing a blue silk linen dress by Anna Valentine.

The Duchess of Cornwall was born Camilla Rosemary Shand on 17 July 1947 as the daughter of Major Bruce Shand and his wife, The Honourable Rosalind Cubitt, at King’s College Hospital in London. Her mother was the daughter of Roland Cubitt, 3rd Baron Ashcombe and Sonia Rosemary Keppel, who in turn was the daughter of Alice Keppel, the mistress of King Edward VII from 1898 until 1910.

The Duchess was first married to Andrew Parker Bowles on 4 July 1973 at the Guards Chapel of the Wellington Barracks in London. They had two children together – Tom and Laura. Andrew and Camilla’s divorce was finalised in March 1995. Andrew remarried in 1996 to Rosemary Pitman. On 9 April 2005, Camilla married The Prince of Wales but she chose to use one of his lesser titles, becoming Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall. They recently celebrated their crystal wedding anniversary.

Camilla is a grandmother of nine. She has five grandchildren through Tom and Laura and also has four step-grandchildren through The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.
