With Baby Sussex on the way, the Duchess of Sussex made her way to New York City to have a baby shower with her closest friends. While many famous faces made an appearance, one noticeably missing guest was Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland who remained in Los Angeles. A private family baby shower is rumoured to be taking place at a later date.

After attending Harry and Meghan’s wedding with her husband George Clooney, Amal was one of the celebrity guests spotted at Meghan’s shower. Reportedly, she co-hosted the event with Serena Williams. Meghan and Harry have said to spend time with the Hollywood couple at their home in Italy. Amal’s husband, George has recently spoken out on how the media interacts with Meghan. Sparking similarities between the Duchess and her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.
Tennis superstar Serena Williams reportedly served as a host for the party. Meghan and Serena are known to be good friends, the Duchess is often seen supporting her friend at tennis matches.
Stylist Jessica Mulroney is known as Meghan’s best friend. Mulroney helped served as Meghan’s unofficial wedding planner flying to London just weeks before the big day to help finalise details. All three of her children even served as bridal attendants in Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Make-up artist Daniel Martin attended the event and even gave a sneak peek into the private affair on his Instagram. Martin, who is a longtime friend of the Duchess, did Meghan’s makeup for the Royal Wedding.
Meghan’s close friend and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer was seen heading into the star-studded event. Spencer is said to have spent quality time with Meghan throughout her visit. Earlier this week, the pair had a lunch date at the Surrey Hotel.
An unexpected guest, Gayle King, made an appearance at the event. While Gayle was reporting for CBS during the actual wedding, her close friend Oprah was in St George’s Chapel as the Duke and Duchess said their famous ‘I Do’s’.”
Nonoo and Meghan have been friends for years, and Nonoo was seen attending Meghan’s wedding last year. While Nonoo herself recently got engaged, maybe she and Meghan shared wedding plans.
The Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower took place in Serena Williams’s room, the Grand Penthouse at the Mark Hotel. It’s said about 15 to 20 of the Duchess’s closest friends attended the event. Meghan is set to visit Morocco with her husband, Prince Harry for a royal tour starting on the 23rd.
Baby Sussex is due in late April/early May, and the Duchess is said to begin maternity leave sometime in March.
