Rare Port released to celebrate the Royal Wedding

Graham’s will be releasing a 1982 tawny Port to commemorate the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle on 19th May.

The family has selected a rare 1982 Single Harvest Tawny Port from Graham’s, an exceptional quality wine that has been matured in oak barrels for over three decades.

It is a fitting wine to commemorate the big day, as both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were born in the early 1980s. The 1982 Port is one of the rarest treasures in the Graham’s cellars.

Graham’s Ports have been used before by the Royal Family to celebrate numerous occasions. Symington created a 1952 Single Harvest which was used for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and a 90-year-old Tawny Port for her 90th birthday. The Queen granted a Royal Warrant to Graham’s back in 2017.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Port will be donated by Symington to two charities chosen by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Royal couple have selected Crisis, a charity for homeless people, and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity for bereaved Armed Force’s children.

Availability in the UK is restricted to 30 Jeroboams (4.5 litre bottles). The Port is presented in an oak box, and a limited number of 20cl bottles are also available.

Graham’s isn’t the only drinks company releasing an exclusive tipple to commemorate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. Windsor and Eton Brewery recently announced the creation of ‘Harry & Meghan’s Windsor Knot’, a special ale brewed especially for the Royal couple’s big day. Like Graham’s Port, it can be bought by fans of the couple who want something special to toast the newly weds with on their special day.

The exclusive 1982 Graham’s Port commemorating the Royal Wedding will be available from 14th May. Selected retailers and top London restaurants will offer the wine, including Harvey Nichols, Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley, The Cavalry & Guards Club and The Lanesborough.
