PRINCE HARRY LAYS PERSONAL TRIBUTE ON REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY IN KANDAHAR
Returning to the country where he served in 2007-2008 and again during 2012-2013, the Prince paid tribute by laying a personal wreath and speaking to those gathered today.
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. They will never be forgotten. Harry,” was written on a card by the Prince and placed on Sunday at Kandahar Airfield.
The visit had Harry reunited with his former unit.
During the service, Prince Harry read a passage from the Gospel of St John. He later lined up with servicemen and women to listen to The Last Post and Reveille played by the Royal Artillery Band.
The Ministry of Defence verified Harry’s visit after he had safely departed Kandahar.

After Sunday’s service, he met with Service personnel from Joint Force Support (Afghanistan) and 904 Expeditionary Air Wing, as well as those from the 31 Squadron RAF serving their final tour of Afghanistan.
The Royal pilot also had a chance to climb into the cockpit of a Tornado GR4 and heard how the jet has functioned in recent campaigns.
Only a few hundred troops remain in Afghanistan as their mission came to an end a few weeks ago.
